At Loose Reins, we know that your furry friend is not just a pet; they’re a part of your family. That’s why we welcome dogs with open arms, and paws, to our glamping site in the heart of Dorset. Here’s how a getaway at Loose Reins is a treat for both you and your four-legged companion.

Bark-Friendly Amenities

Let’s talk dog amenities! To ensure that every guest, whether two-legged or four-legged, has a memorable stay, Loose Reins goes the extra mile. Our cabins and lodges come equipped with everything your dog needs for a comfortable stay.

We provide cosy dog beds, water and food bowls, a tether and lead, doggy poo bags, and delicious treats. Plus, in our Ranchers cabin, we offer a fully gated dog garden for your furry friends. If staying in one of our other gorgeous accommodations, don’t worry, we usually have a large empty stock fenced paddock to enjoy some off-lead exercise. These dog-friendly amenities are perfect for all dogs, whether they’re lap dogs or lively explorers.

Exploring the Great Outdoors

The surrounding area is a dog’s playground. The Wessex Ridgeway offers breathtaking hiking trails with fresh air and clear blue skies – the ultimate dog-walking experience. The nearby North Dorset Trailway, an old railway line, is also ideal for leisurely strolls with your four-legged friend. If you prefer to rest your paws, why not pop into the village train in Shillingstone, stopping at the Railway Project for a cream tea or the village pub for a local beer?

Nature lovers and their dogs can visit Bere Marsh, an organic goat farm, or take a short drive to Studland Beach. Enjoy the golden sands while your dog runs free by the sea. And if you venture a bit further, you’ll find the dog-friendly Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door – both are stunning attractions. We can also recommend the dog-friendly Weymouth Beach, which is about an hour’s drive from Loose Reins. Here, your pup can enjoy the sea air and some sandy adventures.

Responsible Dog Ownership

At Loose Reins, we believe in responsible dog ownership. While we embrace dogs and their owners, we kindly ask that dogs remain on leads when outside accommodations (with the exception of Ranchers cabin in its garden with the gate closed) and on site. This ensures a safe and comfortable environment for all our guests. And remember, always pick up after your dog and dispose of waste properly.

Woofs of Delight

We’ve had the pleasure of hosting many happy dogs and their owners at Loose Reins. But don’t just take our word for it; let our guests tell you about their experiences:

“Peaceful, relaxing week. Stayed in Ranchers cabin which was perfect for our dog. Had the entire site to ourselves. A complete break from normal life. Beautiful views. Very comfortable accommodation. Hosts wonderful.”

“Our perfect getaway..everything we wished for and so much more. Incredible hosts, amazing ranch cabin accommodation…”
As you can see, Loose Reins offers a true escape into nature, making your stay unforgettable, whether you’re on two legs or four.
